BMS demands financial aid to unorganized sector workers

JAMMU , Apr 15: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of J&K to provide emergency financial assistance to the poor workers of unorganized sector.
In a handout senior BMS leader, Harbans Choudhary stated that drivers, conductors, vehicle workshop mechanics, local vendors etc who are not registered anywhere are at the verge of starvation along with their families.
The BMS leader demanded assistance on the pattern of what was provided by Delhi Government which extended Rs. 5000 help to all such workers especially to auto and other petty drivers, conductors etc.
Choudhary said, even central Government has directed the Labour Ministry to prepare the list of migrant workers all over the country with their bank accounts on war footing level for providing them financial aid.
The BMS leader said that such unorganized workers who are mostly self-employed or otherwise have lost their livelihood due to nationwide lockdown needs urgent financial support from the Government.
