JAMMU, Apr 16: Bahu Fort police arrested a rumour monger.
As per police sources, it has been reported that one anti-social element has shared morphed photograph on social media of Prime Minister of India having repercussions on and creating panic in general public about COVID-19.
The matter was probed into and it came to light that a person namely Parvez Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed of Thathri, District Doda, at present Peer Bagh Colony, Sunjwan District Jammu has uploaded such malicious contents on social media.
In this connection, a case under FIR Number 107/2020 under section 505 (2) and 188 IPC, 54 Disaster Management Act and Section 3, Epidemic Disease Act-1897 was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort against above said accused and investigation initiated.
During investigation it was substantiated and thus accused was arrested.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
