J&K wins 4th National Speedball C’ship

JAMMU, May 16: By winning 16 gold, 6 silver and 14 bronze medals, the Jammu and Kashmir Speedball team claimed the title trophy in the 4th National Speedball Championship held at Delhi recently.
The second place went to Andhra Pradesh, while Delhi claimed the third spot.
About 400 players drawn from 17 States of the Country participated in the event, while J&K was represented by a team of 42 members, under the supervision of Sunny Nanda.
Chairperson of the association, Pooja Malhotra has applauded the team along with its coach Sunny Nanda and other officials for this landmark achievement.
Other office bearers including Indra Bhalla, Pooja Malhotra, Shobha Sharma, Ronika Rathore, Anil Nanda, Vikas, Munish, Rakesh Gupta, Vijay Gupta also congratulated the team for outstanding performance.
Those who clinched gold medal in their respective categories included Shivani Saroha, Uditi Verma Manthan Pandoh, Dhruv Sharma, Heena Bali, Manpreet Singh, Suryansh, Sahil Janjua, Ankit Sharma, Gurmehar Singh, Manika Sharma, Mohd Majeed, while the silver medal went to Sanya Gupta, Neel Bhan, Sishaan Datt, Archit Saroha, Vaibhav Mahajan, Honey Bali. The bronze medal was claimed by Rochak Chopra, Pranay Gupta, Aaryan Sharma, Jaimeet Kour, Prajwal Singh, Arshia Slathia, Nandini Sharma, Jatin Kaul, Sugandh Mehta, Amit Kour, Aditya Partap, Sarthak Luthra, Yuvraj Bantrol, Sarthak Gupta.
Meanwhile 4 players, who were awarded for best solo event included Heena Bali, Manika Sharma, Mohd Majeed and Sahil Janjua.
