REASI, Apr 27: In continuation to the drive against drugs, Police today arrested two narcotic smugglers and seized a small quantity of heroin from their possession.
The arrested accused were identified as Arundev Thakur alias Tanshu of Sirla Bhaga, Reasi and Talib Hussain of Sirla Bhaga Reasi , who were intercepted by a Police party at Sulla Naka, during routine checking. The duo was on way towards Katra on motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK20A-3214.
During their search, ten grams of heroin was recovered from their possession, following which both of them were arrested on the spot. Their motorcycle as well as the recovered heroin were also seized. In this connection, a case FIR Number 41/2020, under Section 8/22, NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
Meanwhile, Police also arrested a bootlegger from Pouni and seized five liters of illicit liquor from his possession.
The accused, namely Rakesh Chand of Puria, Pouni, was riding Eterno scooter bearing Registration Number JK02AE-9233 when he was stopped for checking by Police. Police arrested the accused and seized his scooter as well as the illicit liquor. A case FIR number 14/2020, under Section 48 (A) Excise Act has been registered in this connection at P/S Pouni.
