JAMMU, May 8: Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, Jammu, today organized online photography competition as a part of campaign `Defeat COVID-19′.
The competition was organized in four categories for faculty, staff and students on the topic Nature, Portrait, Family and Pets and Animals. In the competition, more than 200 students and staff participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and clicked the photographs from home and posted to the jury members online.
The jury for the competition was Ar Ritika Wadhera, HOD Arch; Er K S Bhatia, HOD Mechanical; Er Akash Dasgotra and Shaila Iram, staff of college. In Portrait Category, 1st prize was awarded to Rishab Puri, Architecture Assistantship, 4th semester, while 2nd was Aaqib Sajad, Electrical Department, 4th semester and 3rd was Palbu Dubey of Computer Engineering, 2nd semester. In Family Category, 1st prize was bagged by Nishchay, 2nd semester, Electrical Deptt; 2nd was Sakshi Sathoo, Computer Deptt, 4th semester while 3rd was Vikas Reyaz, Computer Deptt, 4th semester. In Nature Category, 1st was Yawar from Civil Engg Department; 2nd prize was shared by Dilawer Mehmood, Civil, Engg Department, 6th semester and Lobsang Jungnes, Civil 2nd semester while 3rd prize was shared by Dakshit Sharma, Electrical Engg Deptt, 4th semester and Padma, Travel and Tourism, 2nd semester. In Pet Category, 1st prize went to Rahat Verma, Civil Engg, 6th semester; 2nd to Akhil Thapa, Automobile Engg, 4th semester and Mannat Khajuria, Automobile Engg, 4th semester and 3rd was shared by Arun, Electrical Deptt , 4th semester and Vikas Reyaz, Computer Engg 4th semester.
Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college, appreciated the participation of all the faculty, staff and students in various competitions organised during lockdown. He further advised to students to stay home and utilize their time is online classes. Government Polytechnic Jammu is effectively conducting the Online class through Google Classrooms, Google Hangout, Zoom App, Whatsapp, GoMeeting and Youtube channels since lockdown for the Polytechnic students of all the semester and branches, he added.
