JAMMU, May 12: President Sainik Samaj Party (SSP), Col SS Pathania today urged the Government that the delimitation process must not be based on census of 2011 which is highly fudged, motivated and inaccurate.
“The delimitation process has started its exercise to redraw constituencies as per the norms of the Reorganisation Act and section 60. The number of Assembly seats will go to 90 from 83 seats, leaving 24 seats for PoK but on which basis, the seven seats would be increased, it is yet not clear which defeats the purpose of ‘Delimitation Commission’,” said Pathania in a statement issued here.
Pathania further stated that the census 2011 figures were highly fudged, inaccurate and motivated and were orchestrated to complete the nefarious design of the Kashmir centric politicians showing their never ending desire of sticking to power.
In 2002, the number of voters in Jammu was more than to Kashmir but in 2014 Kashmir exceeded Jammu in voters by 4.21 lacs indicating a surge of 5.6 lacs voters in Kashmir as compare to Jammu while in 2011 census, it was indicated the growth of Muslim has increased by 4.12 percent while decline of 4.2 percent in growth of Hindu and Sikhs.
Pathania expressed his concern and anguish over the continuing discrimination against the Jammu people, that too during rule of Governor in the UT. He urged the Government to consider the problem and grievances of Jammu people in holistic manner with empathy and save them from the hegemony of Kashmir centric politics.
