JMC joins hands with BPCL to introduce SmartFleet program for its vehicles

JAMMU, May 16: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) signed an agreement with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to introduce SmartFleet program for its vehicles.
In line with the Digital India initiative and Government’s move to promote cashless transactions, JMC vehicles have been issued SmartFleet cards by BPCL. The fuelling of vehicles will be linked to BPCL’s automation system and data for every transaction would be available on BPCL’s server on real time basis and can be tracked through online portal by JMC. The transactions will now be cashless and transparent. JMC will get benefits in line with cashless incentives on fuel transactions along with other benefits as covered in the agreement.
A trial run was conducted at BPCL’s flagship “Pure For Sure” Platinum certified Retail Outlet M/s Muktanand Autoaids, Tallab Tillo (Jammu). The Retail outlet is fully automated petrol pump with services like free nitrogen, automation, clean toilets, RO drinking water, In & Out Store (grocery store), 24 hours working and provision of cashless transactions with ATM/credit cards, Paytm etc.

He also apprised about BPCL’s promise of “We Bill What We Fill” and explained how JMC will get an SMS and email alert for every transaction made at the outlet.
Sudhir Bali, Assistant Commissioner (R), CTO presided over the trial run at the petrol pump today. Vijay Saraf, Secretary Amar Singh Club was also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Bali stated that smart fleet program will help reduce paperwork as every transaction would be recorded online.
Rajesh Sharma, Territory Manager BPCL for J&K and Ladakh, while expressing pleasure over the tie-up, stated that BPCL and JMC have had a long fuelling association and that BPCL will continue to provide JMC with latest fuelling solutions backed up by state of the art technology through its Retail Outlets in the UT.
