SRINAGAR, May 23: Former minister and senior Congress leader, Prof Saifuddin Soz has appealed the Lt Governor of J&K UT to evacuate Kashmiri people, especially students, stuck in Tamil Nadu due to lock down.
“I made an earnest request to Lt Governor, GC Murmu today, to facilitate return of students and workers to Kashmir, now stranded at Madurai, Chennai and other places in Tamil Nadu. I explained to the Lt Governor that these stranded people want no other facility than arrangements for their travel to Kashmir,” Soz said.
The Congress leader further claimed that he has received several phone calls of Kashmiri people struck at Channai, Madurai and other places. They want to return home as early as possible, Soz added.
