JAMMU, May 24: Sikh United Front (SUF) has urged upon the J&K UT Administration to improve facilities at the Quarantine Centres established at various places in the region.
In a meeting of the Front held here today under the chairmanship of Sudarshan Singh Wazir along with various members including- Dayal Singh Wazir, HS Raina, Mohinder Singh, Darbinder Singh and Kulwant Singh, the speakers appealed the Governor of J&K UT, Girish Chandra Murmu to personally intervene and ask the administration to give proper attention toward the quarantine centers set up for the people coming to J&K from outside.
They alleged that through media it has some to the notice that physical distancing is not being maintained at many centres. They are not being provided proper facilities by the administration. There is no proper arrangement of food and beds at several centres. Therefore, it is better to keep them in home quarantine.
The SUF leaders also apprised the Lt Governor that thousands of labourers are locked in J&K during lockdown and now they are out of pocket. They may be provided transport to reach their homes in various states of the country. They also expressed serious concern over the delay being caused in test reports of the people whose samples were lifted by the medical authorities.
Prominent among others who attended telephonic conference/ meeting included Gajan Singh, Surinder Singh Kala, Prof Yudhvir Singh, Parmjeet Singh Raina, Raja Singh, Charanjeet Singh, Rajinder Singh, Harpreet Singh and Surjeet Singh.
