RAMBAN, May 26: A trucker was arrested with 26 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramsoo Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AR-3044.
During checking, 26 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle and the driver identified as Karpal Singh, son of Chattar Singh of Gunda, District Rajouri was arrested on the spot.
A case under FIR Number 43/2020 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramsoo DySP (Prob) Dr Sumit Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of Ashish Gupta, SDPO Banihal, Sanjay Parihar, Additional SP Ramban and Haseeb-Ur-Rehman SSP Ramban.
