NEW DELHI: BJP on Thursday said the party will organise virtual rallies in every district across the country to mark the completion of one year of the Narendra Modi-led government 2.0.
On May 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will complete one year of his second term.
Addressing a press conference here, National General Secretary Bhupender Yadav said, ”At least one virtual rally will be organised in every district across the country through virtual samvad and Prime Minister’s message of Atmanirbhar Bharat will be spread across the masses.”
As many as 1,000 virtual conferences will also be held by national and state leadership, he said.
Mr Yadav said, ”First year of the second term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is nearing completion. On the occasion, BJP National President J P Nadda will address workers through Facebook live.”
Along with this, a letter written by the Prime Minister will be taken to 10 crore houses by party workers, he informed and stressed that all this will be done while maintaining all the rules and norms set out by the local government to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Mr Yadav said eight party morchas, including mahila and SC/ST morchas, will address more than 500 virtual rallies addressed by state and national leaders.
On the Prime Minister’s call, under the leadership of party president JP Nadda, the party served the people of the country till lockdown four, and fulfilled its responsibility by acting with compassion towards the nation, he said.
On question on Bihar Legislative Assembly elections, slated to be held by October 2020, he said the party is prepared and it was upto the Election Commission to take a decision.
Mr Yasav said, ”On the call of the Prime Minister, the entire nation is united to fight Corona. In this hour of crisis, the people of the country have fought this battle by supporting each other and set an exemplary example.”
Under the leadership of Mr Nadda, ‘Feed the Needy’ campaign was carried out all over the country, he said
More than 8 lakh workers provided food to more than 19.18 crore needy under the campaign, Mr Yadav said, adding that food packets were supplied to more than 4.86 crore people.
The BJP leader said more than 5 crore face covers were distributed by the BJP under the ‘WearFaceCoverStaySafe campaign to the needy by activists.
As a gesture of gratitude to the Corona warriors — Police, doctor-nurses, cleanliness workers– the party carried out thanksgiving campaign at the booth level, Mr Yadav maintained.
Thanksgiving signature campaign was conducted in more than 12.87 lakh booths, he disclosed.
Around 10.30 lakh food packets were distributed in more than 1.18 lakh settlements for the poor in over 9,000 mandals of 588 districts by more than 11 lakh workers, and 12.54 lakh face covers were distributed while maintaining hygiene and strict social distancing, he informed.
Many programmes were organised by the party on the birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, the creator of the Constitution, Mr Yadav said.
Earlier, the party said on Monday that the focus of all programmes will be Prime Minister’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat and ‘vocal for local’ campaigns.
Mr Modi was voted back to power on May 23, 2019, with an even bigger majority than in 2014. (AGENCIES)
