JAMMU, June 4: BCCI, NCA and SAI qualified Strength & Conditioning Trainer and Lecturer in Physical Education, Pawan Kumar along with Pankaj Sasun, Madan Mohan and Satika Sharma have successfully qualified ASCA Level-1 from Australia Strength and Conditioning association, one of World’s leading association.
The Australian Strength and Conditioning Coaching Association has also issued certificates to this quartet of the Department of Youth Services and Sports for their successful completion of the Course.
It is pertinent to mention here that ASCA Level-1 is also recognised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and now these employees of the Department of Youth Services and Sports are eligible for preparing athletes physically across range of sports.
While Pawan has vast experience and distinction of working with Sir Bishan Singh Bedi, Narinder Hirwani, Irfan Pathan, Ajay Ratra, many former Indian players and National Level Coaches, Pankaj has the honour of accompanying JKCA teams in different capacities, besides being selector and escort of UT’s SGFI teams. Madan and Satika also accompany the teams of Union Territory in BCCI and SGFI Level tournaments.
“J&K has immense talent in cricketing field but as far as fitness is concerned we are lacking and a lot needs to be done to improve fitness standard of the players. Teams and players must be trained under professional and qualified S&C in a planned and systematic way,” said Pawan while expressing his views.
Pankaj said that the Course has taught them to work in a professional manner, adding that it will help them in serving youngsters in a better way.
Ace Sports Administrator & cricket promoter, Ranjeet Kalra and Parvez Rasool’s childhood coach and mentor, Rajesh Dhar while complimenting the quartet of Pawan, Pankaj, Madan and Satika, have advised them to train maximum athletes of Jammu and Kashmir so that they bring laurels for the Union Territory.
