RAMBAN, June 5: Against the alleged lack of coordination among District Administration and the Health Department, the shops and markets remained closed here today on the call given by Beopar Mandal.
Despite advisory issued by the District Magistrate Ramban to open the market places from 10 am to 2 pm, the shopkeepers shut their business establishments in protest against District Administration.
Office bearers of the Beopar Mandal complained that they had made representation before the administration that to shift the Corona centres established at Higher Secondary School and Trauma Hospital to some other place as both these hospitals are situated in the center of the town and will endanger the lives of people of the town.
They said although district administration assured that these hospitals will be shifted but more than 8 days have elapsed, the promise has not been kept by the administration.
They further alleged that the guidelines issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare are being violated by the District Hospital administration.
“Corona positive ladies remained admitted in District Hospital wards and were attended by doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital”, they said and questioned why the staff who attended them were not sent for quarantine.
“The doctors and paramedics who attended these Corona positive ladies are roaming freely in the markets. Their free movement is a great threat to the lives of the people and we will not endanger lives of our customers and people by opening our shops and establishments in the town”, the office bearers added.
The shops will remain shut till we will not receive any information from District Administration and Health Department regarding our demands, claimed the President of the Beopar Mandal.
