REASI, June 7: At least six cattle including four buffaloes and two sheep were charred to death after a massive fire engulfed a Kucha house in Thakrakote area of district Reasi last night.
Reports said the Kucha house and adjoining cattle shed of one Khaddam Hussain, son of Misser Din, resident of Panasa village in Thakrakote block of Reasi caught fire under mysterious circumstances.
The house-owner and his family members were there at home when the cattle shed suddenly caught fire in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. They managed to escape and tried to douse the flames, but failed to do so. Four buffaloes, two sheep were died in the incident and one buffalo was injured. Some household items were also gutted in the fire. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
