Supply of festival sugar demanded

SRINAGAR, Apr 10: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has impressed upon the state Government to put in place adequate arrangements in view of the Baisakhi festival being celebrated on April 13.
In a statement, APSCC Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said that the State Government has not put in place adequate arrangements for Baisakhi celebrations as is done in case of other festivals. Raina said that till date the sugar is not available, even the special quota which was given for this day has not been provided. He urged the State Government to supply adequate quantity of Sugar, flour and other essential commodities at Ration Depots immediately.
Raina has extended his greetings on the occasion of Baisakhi to all people of State. Sikh leaders including Harjeet Singh Sweety and Rajinder Singh have urged the GPC of all districts to make Baisakhi festival a pure religious celebration for the people and not make it a political arena.
