Tarigami asks Govt to tide over power crisis

SRINAGAR, Apr 10: Asking the administration to wake up to the emergency power scenario in Kashmir, CPI (M) State Secretary, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today said that the Government must take effective measures to tide over the crisis.
In a statement issued here today, Tarigami said that people living across the length and breadth of the State are up against deteriorating power situation. He said the administration should take a note of the protests carried out by people in different parts of the Valley against the power crisis so that the corrective measures are taken at the earliest thus providing relief to the people.
Tarigami said that Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to create a buffer stock of electricity transformers at divisional level to address the situation surfaced due to damaged transformers. He blamed the faulty policies of PDD for the damages of electricity transformers.
