Constructed years ago, Sports Pavilion Sopore out of bounds for players

SRINAGAR, June 20: A sports pavilion constructed by R&B Department in Sopore, has not been handed over to the concerned department even after lapse of several years.
The pavilion was constructed on the ground of Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Sopore but the building is yet to handed over to School Authority.
The School Education Department repeatedly requested to the R&B Department for officially handing over the newly constructed building but to no avail.
“The roof of the building and window panes has got damaged and even the washrooms constructed inside the building are also blocked” Tajamul Ahmad, a local sportsman said.
The locals said that the project was amounting to around Rs 2 crore, but the building has not been put into use.
Principal of the Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Sopore Abdul Rashid told Excelsior that the school administration had raised the issue before the higher-ups including the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, but the issue is still unsolved.
