SRINAGAR, Apr 12: State Sports Council has selected four footballers for Sher-i-Kashmir Sports Awards for this year. The list includes two footballers each from Jammu and Kashmir regions.
According to a press release issued by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association, the football players selected for the State awards are Mehraj-ud-din Wadoo, Ishfaq Ahmad, Arun Malhotra and Johny Sharma. Besides getting Rs 25,000 each in cash, the players will be awarded citations as well for their service to the soccer.
The footballers will be joined by cricketers and other sports persons at Jammu University’s General Zorawar Auditorium Hall where the award function would be held.
The function will be chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is also President, J&K State Sports Council.
