JAMMU, June 29: Various Government Degree Colleges today organised national level quiz competitions on different topics to make students familiar about new mode of examination (MCQ), recently announced by University of Jammu.
Department of Geography, Government PG College Rajouri conducted national level online quiz competition under the supervision of College Principal, Prof (Dr) Shakeel Ahmed Raina.
Dr Taseem Ahmed, HOD Geography was the convener, Dr Mohd Tufail was the organizing secretary of the event whereas Prof Riaz Ahmed, Department of Computer Sciences was on the technical support.
566 participants from different colleges and universities across the country participated in the competition. E-certificates were given to all participants who scored more than 40 percent marks in the event.
Dr Taseem Ahmed (Convener) thanked all the participants who took part in the quiz whereas College Principal emphasized that the purpose of the online quiz was to engage the student community constructively during the COVID-19 pandemic and to make them aware for the future competitive examinations. He also appreciated the Geography Department for organizing the event.
Department of Mathematics, Government Degree College Sunderbani organized an inter-collegiate quiz competition on the topic “Complex Analysis” for 6th semester students.
About 60 students from various colleges and universities across J&K participated in the quiz competition. E-certificates were given to all the students who secured more than 60 percent marks.
The programme was coordinated by Prof Harshal Sharma and organized by Dr Paras Ram and Prof Beant Singh while the event was conducted under the overall supervision of Prof (Dr) Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College.
First prize was bagged by Ravinder Singh, Department of Mathematics of University of Jammu, 2nd prize went to Shafqat Shabir of GDC Thanamandi whereas 3rd prize was shared by Akshita Kohli of GCW Kathua and Qazi Arshed Shabir of GDC Thanamandi.
Department of English, Govt Degree College Akhnoor organized inter-collegiate online quiz competition on “New Literature in English” for 6th semester students under the supervision of College Principal, Dr Namarta.
Shubam Kumar of GDC Akhnoor secured 1st position whereas 2nd position was shared by Sheetal Bhagat, Shivani Sharma and Niharika Sharma of GDC Akhnoor and 3rd position was clinched by Rohit Kumar of GDC Akhnoor. E-certificates were awarded to all the participants.
The event was organized by Prof Aksa, HoD English.
