JAMMU, July 2: Jammu Municipal Corporation Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta in presence of Ex-MLC, Vikram Randhawa and Councillor, Rahul Kumar today distributed domicile certificates to 25 beneficiaries of Balmiki community at Tehsil Office, Gadigarh, here.
Tehsildar, Harjeet Singh, BJP Mandal president, Bharat Bhushan, Rinku Gill, president of Safaikaramcharis and other representatives of the Balmiki community were also present during the function.
Rinku Gill on behalf of the Balmiki Samaj thanked the Mayor and his team for redressing the long pending issues of the downtrodden, poor and deserving persons of the Balmiki community and criticised the previous Governments of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir for depriving the community from their fundamental rights.
In another function, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta inaugurated a salon namely “Sahib Salon” near Police Station, Sarwal in the presence of Councillor of Ward No. 18, Dinesh Gupta, Councillor of Ward No. 25, Arun Khanna, Councillor Surinder Choundhary of Ward No. 29 and Anu Bali Councillor of Ward No. 24.
