X-Ray machine lying defunct at SDH Mendhar

POONCH, July 13: Though J&K UT Administration claims to provide better healthcare to the patients in the rurals hospitals, yet the non-availability of X-Ray machine at Govt Sub District Hospital Mendhar has exposed the false claims.
The machine is lying defunct and the patients are suffering immensely. Patients quoting the officials said that the sole X-Ray machine at the hospital is lying defunct for the past two months while the authorities don’t bother to repair it.
The patients as well as the attendants said that the authorities are pushing them to face hardships. They further said that the X-Ray machine is lying defunct at the hospital, which is very pivotal for the patients who have met with the accident or any other bone related issues but the hospital administration has utterly failed to get the machine repaired, forcing the patients to conduct the X-Ray test at the private clinic, outside the hospital.
A patient said that huge rush of people is often witnessed outside the private clinic. “It seems that authorities of the hospital are hand-in-glove with the private clinics, he said.
Other attendants in the hospital demanded that Director Health Services Jammu must look into the matter.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mendhar, Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan admitted that the X-Ray machine is Govt SDH Mendhar was lying defunct. He said a team of Mechanics tried to repair the Machine but failed.
