JAMMU, July 17: All India Backward Classes Union (Social) today said that the foremost duty of the Backward Classes Commission (BCC) is to implement the Apex Court’s judgement in UT of J&K instead of inviting representations.
“There is no need to invite representations as every thing has been decided including castes identifications and implemented in the country which was blocked in erstwhile J&K state on the pretext of Article 370 but now after abrogation of Article 370, Government has no such excuse,” said AIBCU members while reacting over the press conference of BCC Chairman held on July 15.
The AIBCU members said that in his press conference BCC Chairman had said that Commission has got more powers for the welfare of socially and educationally backward classes. They said when OBCs of J&K has not got the benefits of Apex Court’s judgement of 1992 on Mandal Report and OBCs called OSCs have been suffering for the past 28 years even after the abrogation of Article 370 , then what benefits this commission has now in its store to give.
This Commission has destroyed the identities of the three categories viz SC, ST and OBC by amalgamating all the three in one commission instead of the three. “Unless and until the Government implements the Apex Court’s judgement in the J&K UT, the press conference of the BCC Chairman over the criteria for the identification of socially and educationally backward classes, is meaningless,” they added.
The AIBCU members said if the Commission does not implement the Apex Court’s judgement in J&K by changing the status of OSC to OBC then it will be assumed that this commission under the directions of BJP and Prime Minister Modi is going to destroy Indian constitution and constitutional rights.
