JAMMU, Jan 17: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) continued its “Badlaav Yatra,” a 7-day campaign that began on January 10, covering areas from Lakhanpur to Amphalla Chowk, Jammu.
During the Yatra, AAP volunteers raised slogans against the ruling dispensation, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of failing to fulfil any promises made since 2014.
The AAP volunteers expressed astonishment at how leaders who once criticized Arvind Kejriwal’s welfare initiatives, referring to them as “Muft Ki Rewari,” are now promising subsidized LPG cylinders, electricity, and water.
They called out the BJP’s double standards, especially in poll-bound states, where promises are made but not implemented in other states under BJP rule.
The AAP volunteers castigated those BJP leaders who criticized Kejriwal for free electricity, healthcare, and education, as they (AAP volunteers) highlighted the apparent hypocrisy in BJP leaders adopting similar policies. They questioned the authenticity of BJP promises, emphasizing that people are growing weary of false assurances and “Jumlas.”
The AAP criticized the current leadership style, expressing concern that the country is being led towards a unitary type of Government. They warned against the dominance of a single face in the media, undermining democracy and unity.
The volunteers challenged the credibility of Modi’s guarantees, now labelled as “Jumlas,” stating that people no longer trust them. They accused the BJP Government of dragging the country towards a dictatorial form of governance, undermining democratic and constitutional institutions.
Prominent among those who participated in the Badlaav Yatra included S Ranjodh Singh, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Nirmal Mahna, Romesh Lal Bhagat, and others.
