JAMMU, June 12: The first day of the Championship was filled with excitement and fierce competition, as participants battled it out for top honours. In the Under-11 boys category Aarav Gandotra of KC Public School displayed top quality table tennis skills right from the start of the tournament and raced his way to the finals by defeating Pratyaksh by 3-0 in the semi-finals.
In the other semi final Saiyam trounced Akshaj Garg by 3-0 to fix a summit clash with Aarav. In the Under-11 girls semi-finals Syrah Dewan outplayed Ridhime by 3-0 and Alena Arora defeated Adhira by 3-0. This will be a repeat of last year’s championships finals. Both the players displayed skillful table tennis and shall be facing each other in the title clash.
The results were Under-11 Boys (Quarter Finals); Saiyam beat Adiv by 3-0, Akshag beat Zain by 3-0, Pratyaksh beat Suryansh by 3-1, Arav beat Girish by 3-0 while in Under-11 girls (Semi Finals) Syrah Dewan beat Ridhime by 3-0, Alena Arora beat Adhira Singh by 3-0.
In Under-13 girls (Quarter Finals); Myrah Dewan beat Anvi by 3-0, Syrah Dewan beat Saanvi by 3-0, Alena beat Ridhime by 3-0 and Srishti beat Adhira by 3-0. In Under-13 Boys (Pre Quarter Finals) Zain beat Akshar by 3-0, Prajwal beat Gourang by 3-1, Arav beat Sahasvat by 3-0 and Aditya beat Ayush by 3-0.
