KATHUA, June 20: Rustem-e-Punjab Abdul Gani and Wrestler Gaurav from Punjab shared the historical Ramkote Classic Wrestling Competition title, being organised by Ramkote Dangal Committee at Ramkote.
The bout between Rustem-e-Punjab Abdul Gani and Wrestler Gaurav ended in draw and both shared the title trophy.
The second bout between Wrestler Benia of JKP and Wrestler Bhupinder of Haryana also ended in draw.
The third bout was played between Wrestler Kamaljot and Wrestler Meenu, in which former registered win, whereas, in the fourth bout, Wrestler Keenu trounced Wrestler Bagga.
The competition, which was earlier inaugurated by Member Legislative Council (MLC) Subash Gupta was witnessed by thousands of people from in and around district Kathua.
In the competition, not only State wrestler, but the pahalwans from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Hmachal and Chandigarh also participated and were vying for the coveted title.
Among others present were Jatinder Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Mohan Lal, SSP, Rafiq Manhas, SDPO Basohli, Rajesh Gupta, President of the ), Madan Gopal Chairman, Vinay Gupta Vice Chairman, Sudarshan Khajuria, Budhi Singh, Vijaj Gupta, Vinod Spolia, Abdul Rashid and other members of the committee.
