JAMMU, Mar 18: An amount of nearly Rs 40 crore is outstanding as power tariff arrears against politicians, big business houses, Army and Para-Military Forces in the State.
This information was provided by the Minister Incharge Power in the written reply to the question of PDP MLA, Ch Zulfikar Ali in the Legislative Assembly today.
“The outstanding power tariff arrears against the commercial and big business houses are to the tune of Rs 12416 lakh while as an amount of Rs 6518 lakh is out standing against the Army and Para-Military Forces”, the Minister said, adding “an amount of Rs 29 lakh is pending against various Ministers and Legislators against their accommodation in Jammu while as in case of accommodation at Srinagar the same is to the tune of Rs 6.17 lakh”.
