JAMMU, Apr 10: Bahu Fort arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest from the past 17 years.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari conducted raid and arrested an absconder, who was at large since 2005.
The accused was identified as Gagandeep Singh alias Gugu, son of late Janak Singh, a resident of Jeewan Nagar, at present Ajeet Nagar Satwari District Jammu.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 117/2005 under Sections 382 and 341 RPC with Police Station Bahu Fort.
It is pertinent to mention that the accused was evading his arrest from CJM court Jammu.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
