UDHAMPUR, Nov 26: An alleged thief, who was absconding for the 30 years since commissioning of crime, has been arrested by the Udhampur Police.
The accused, namely Pappu Ram, son of Shankar of Satyalta Udhampur, was allegedly involved in case FIR number 87/1985, under section 379 RPC of Police Station, Udhampur. He was evading his arrest since 1992 and the court had issued warrant under section 512 CrPC for his arrest.
Acting on specific information, a special police team of P/S Udhampur, headed by SHO Raghubir Singh, arrested the said absconder and produced him before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Udhampur for judicial determination.
