JAMMU, May 17: Bus-Stand police arrested two absconding thieves and recovered some stolen items from their possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged with police station Bus-Stand stating that some persons had stolen items including LCD, inverter and fan from a shop in Bus-Stand area.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 25/16 under Section 454 and 380 RPC was registered at Bus-Stand police station and manhunt was launched to nab the thieves.
During the course of investigation, several persons were round up and the CCTV footage was thoroughly checked.
After putting hectic and sincere efforts, a team from Bus-Stand police station finally succeeded in tracing and nabbing the accused persons.
The thieves have been identified as Ajaz Khan, son of Nattu Khan and Sunil Kumar, son of Vasudev Sharma, both residents of Bihar.
On their disclosure, stolen items including LCD, sewing machine, fan and inverter were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on and more recoveries are expected from them.
Police team led by SHO Bus-Stand police station, Inspector Abid Rafiqi made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City, Vivek Shekhar Sharma and SP City, Dr Vinod Kumar.
