JAMMU, Oct 26: A seminar and poetry recitation programme was organized at K L Sehgal Hall here, today by Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad (ABSP) and Sanaskar Bharti on the topic contribution of J&K writers and poets to national literature.
A galaxy of scholars from the State participated in the programme, read their papers and took part in the debate.
They included Bal Krishan Sanyasi, Om Parkash Shaker, Maharaj Krishan Santoshi, Yogita Yadav, Dr R L Shant, Dr Nirmal Vinod, Padam Shri Moti Lal Kemo and BJP organizing general secretary Ashok Kaul.
They said that the literature written in J&K in quality is at par with the literature written in other parts of the country. The speakers highlighted the contribution of J&K writers and poets to the National literature and said though Indian literature has world recognition, the need is to divide the Indian literature within the regional parameters.
Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad is a national organization and Arvind Shah the incharge of the organization had organized the programe in which galaxy of writers, scholars, journalists and poets participated.
Mr Shah while giving introduction of the organization said that it promotes the Indian languages and works for it without considerations what so ever.
Ashok Koul also highlighted the contribution of literature to national cause.
In the poetic session a galaxy of poets took part and recited their poems on the occasion. Speakers said the writers never write for a particular thought but for entire humanity.
The seminar was presided over by Amandeep Singh while the poetic symposium was presided over by Dr R L Shant.
