JAMMU, Oct 4: The State unit of ABVP today organized Sunil Padha Memorial (SPM) Gyan Pratiyogita (General Knowledge Test) for the students of class 9th to 12th in which about 8,522 students appeared at different centres across Jammu.
The main centres included Jammu, Srinagar, Pulwama, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Rajouri, Nowshera, RS Pura, Reasi, Bhaderwah, Ramban, Udhampur and Kishtwar. The timing of the exam was 11 am to 12.30 pm.
The ABVP organizes this exam every year in the memory of ABVP activist, late Sunil Padha, for last 25 years with the motive to inculcate competitive temperament among the students.
In Jammu district, there were two different centres— Luthra Academy, Kachi Chawani and Government Centre Basic School, Purani Mandi.
Before the conduct of exam, there was an inaugural function in which State ABVP president, Virender Koundal, lighted the lamp in front of the pictures of Mata Saraswati and Swami Vivekananda. Also, the tributes were paid to late Sunil Padha.
Others present on the occasion were Shailender Tiwari, joint organizing secretary, Ganesh Malhotra, Jammu Mahanagar president, Govind Sharma and Ganesh Kunde.
