SRINAGAR, Oct 5: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) here today announced 18 State level awards for students of different educational institutions under ‘Essay Competition’.
Giving details about the competition, Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary Academy said a State level competition was held involving students of universities, colleges and schools to write essays on the topics including ‘New Horizons for Cultural Tourism in J&K, Importance of Cultural Tourism-with special reference to J&K State and Cultural Destinations of J&K for Tourists’.
At university level Naresh Kumar, University of Jammu bagged the first prize worth Rs. 25000 while Hina Majid of Central University Kashmir and Tainum Qaisir, University of Kashmir won 2nd and third prize of Rs 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
Under the same category three consolation prizes Rs. 7000 each were given to Dil Naz Bano of University of Jammu, Nivadita of University of Jammu and Nusrat Nazir of Cluster University Kashmir.
In college level competition, first prize of Rs. 15000 was given to Asif Ali Bhat of Government Amar Singh College, Srinagar while second prize of Rs 10,000 and third of Rs 7000 were given to Saieed Qaisir of Islamic College of Science & Commerce, Srinagar and Rufshan of Government Degree College Women, Nawa Kadal, Srinagar.
Three consolation prizes of Rs 5000 each were won by Vitasta of School of Law and Humanities, Jammu, Shahida Kousar of Himalayan Degree College, Rajouri and Noor Mohd Bango of Distance Education, University of Kashmir.
At school level Isra Iqbal of Hilpark International School Hindwara won first prize of Rs 10,000 while second and third prizes of Rs 7000 and Rs 5000 were won by Nahida Tabsum of Himalayan Educational Mission, Rajouri and Navam Gupta of Brahmrishi Shanty Veeddhya Peeth Udhampur.
Three consolation prizes of Rs 3000 each were won by Bilal Ahmad of GWS Baramulla, Aisha Bhat of Green Valley Education Institution, Srinagar and Jahangir Ashraf of Government Boys HSS Kupwara.
The award function will be held shortly, Dr. Hajni said.
