ACC Reds registers 2-wkt win over WCC Blues

SRINAGAR, Aug 18: Amateur Cricket Club (ACC) Reds, Srinagar scripted a narrow win by 2 wickets over Whites Cricket Club (WCC) to move into the next round of the ongoing Parvaiz Qureshi Memorial Invitational Cricket Cup, being organized by the Kashmir wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Kashmir University grounds, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, WCC Blues scored a fighting total of 145 runs in the stipulated 34 overs. Abhinav Kaw was the top scorer with 28 runs, while Ravi Pandita contributed valuable 23 runs to the total. Sharanjeet Singh was the wrecker-in-chief for ACC Reds, who bowled with decent line and length and captured 4 important wickets, while Omar Nazir and Aamir Mehraj bagged 2 wickets each and speedster Abid Nabi claimed one wicket.
ACC Reds, in reply, despite losing 8 wickets scripted a narrow win by 2 wickets in 28th over of the match. Irshad Ahmed played a brilliant innings of unbeaten 48 runs, while Owais Shah contributed magnificent 30 runs to the total. For WCC Blues, seam bowler Rakesh Koul was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 3 wickets, while wrist spinner Rohit Pandita was the most economical bowler, claiming 2 wickets. Waqar also bowled with decent line and length and took 2 wickets.
The match was officiated by Sameer Ahmed and Mohd Aslam as umpires, while Javed Ahmed was the official scorer.
