JAMMU, May 26: Jammu and Kashmir Accounts Employees Association has expressed its grave concern over the non shifting of the Finance Department to its newly constructed office complex at Muthi.
In a statement issued here today, the president of the Association J S Charak said that a spacious office complex has been constructed after spending crores of rupees for accommodating the various offices presently functioning in the private buildings.
He said the Muthi Office was inaugurated by Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu over three months back and it was decided that the required space would be allotted to each office soon but even Darbar moved to Summer Capital and offices were not shifted.
The Association said that various offices including office of Director, Accounts and Treasuries, Joint Director/ General Provident Fund, Deputy Director Local Fund and several other offices were functioning in private buildings and paying huge amount as rent despite having own accommodations, thus putting unnecessary burden on the State exchequer.
He said the other burning issues such as cadre review, promotions at all levels, creation of posts in Degree Colleges, police organizations, forest and revenue etc are pending and nothing concrete is being done by authorities at the helm of affairs.
The vice president of the Association Lal Chand Sharma alleged that even retirement vacancies are not being filled and blatant violation of the transfer policy is taking place in the Accounts and Treasuries Department.
