Accused Forest officials sent to jail

SRINAGAR, Mar 22: As the Crime Branch produced charge sheet against the accused, allegedly involved in preparing a fictitious list of daily rated workers in Forest Department for regularization, the Court rejected their bail application and sent all of them to judicial custody.
Charge sheet in case FIR number 2/2014, was produced against the four accused, namely Aftab Alam Bhat of Shivpora Srinagar (Jr Assistant, Agrostology Circle J&K), Ghulam Mohammad Khan of Botshah Mohalla, Lal Bazar (retired Agriculture Incharge Range Officer), Arshid Hussain Mir of Kralyar Rainawari Srinagar and Mohammad Maqbool Mir of Dhobi Mohalla Batmaloo Srinagar ((Senior Assistant Forest Research Division Srinagar, under offences 420, 468, 471, 120-B RPC. They deceived a good number of unemployed youth under the pretext of providing Government jobs to them and after inducing the victims to deliver hefty amounts, prepared a fictitious list of 102 daily rated workers and subsequently managed its submission before the Administrative department of Forest for regularization.
The Court of Law at Srinagar, rejected bail application of all the accused and sent them for judicial determination to Central Jail Srinagar.
