Accused securing Govt job by impersonation charge-sheeted

JAMMU, Apr 4: Crime Branch Jammu produced charge-sheet against an accused of procuring Govt job in the Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development Department (IMPARD) for himself by way of impersonation.
Charge-sheet was produced against Shakti Bandhu, son of Late Jia Lal Bhat of Achhan, Distt Pulwama, A/P Pouni Chack Jammu, in the Court of Passenger Tax Jammu in case FIR No. 14/2020 419,420/RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu.
Case in this regard was registered following a communication to Crime Branch Jammu from Joint Director J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development, Regional Centre Jammu along with an enquiry report and a written complaint lodged by the complainant, alleging therein that one Ashok Kumar, son of Late Jai Lal of Acchan Pulwama cheated Govt of J&K by providing certificates of his dead younger brother to get himself a job in Institute of Management & Public Administration (IMPA Deptt) for himself.
The complainant further alleged that the accused was working in IMPA Deptt from last 30 years (Approx) in the name of Ashok Kumar whereas his actual name is Kaka Ji as nick name in home/village and Shakti Bandhoo in school records and certificate in the High School Acchan Pulwama. The accused even has not passed 9th class. In the year 1978, his younger brother Ashok Kumar died due to accident when he was studying in BA 2nd year in Co-Education College Anantnag Kashmir and after passing some years, Shakti Bandhu alias Kaka Ji (accused) got Govt job in the IMPA Deptt in connivance with some Government officials by providing certificates of his dead younger brother – deceased Ashok Kumar.
Crime Branch initiated criminal proceedings against the accused on the basis of the omissions and commissions made out during the enquiry, which prima facie, constitute offences punishable U/S 419, 420, 120-B IPC. Accordingly, a formal case was registered in P/S Crime Branch, Jammu against the accused for in-depth investigation.
During the course of investigation relevant record was seized which established that accused Shakti Bandhu had used the testimonials/qualification certificates of his deceased brother in order to get the job in IMPARD Department by way of cheating by impersonation and causing wrongful loss to the Government and wrongful gain to himself.
