JAMMU, June 17: Winner of many tournaments at domestic/local circuit, ace chess player, Sumit Grover, son of Bharat Raj Grover and Kamlesh Kumari, emerged winner in the Platinum Category Elo Rating (1999 and below) KIIT International Chess Festival held at Bhubneshwar in Orissa, recently.
256 players drawn from across the Country participated in this chess extravaganza. Sumit was top ranked in the Tournament alongwith Vinayak Kulkarni of Karnataka.
A Commerce Graduate from Jammu University, Mr Grover has the distinction of participating in over 100 official chess tournaments, besides having an honour of touring Sri Lanka and participating in Commonwealth Chess Championship in the year 2012 at Chennai in India.
