AKHNOOR, June 25: Adarsh Cricket Club trounced Singh Challenger Club Akhnoor by 18 runs and entered the quarterfinals of the ongoing 4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Batting first, Adarsh Club scored 146 runs in 18.2 overs. Roshan Verma top scored with 34 runs off 22 balls, which included 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Dilawar Singh scored 29 off 25 balls with the help of 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. Manga also contributed 20 runs to the total. For Singh Challenger Club, Pankaj Verma and Sukhdev Chand captured 3 wickets, while Shravan and Sonu claimed 2 wickets each.
Singh Challenger Club, in reply bundled out for 129 runs in 17.5 overs, thus lost the match by 18 runs. Pankaj Verma was the top scorer with 32 runs, while Sagar Verma and Arun Sharma contributed 19 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Roshan Verma was pick of the bowlers for Adarsh Club, who scalped 3 important wickets, while Shubam, Sourav and Udey claimed 2 wickets each. Sunny also picked one wicket. Roshan Verma was adjudged man of the match.
The match was officiated by Surinder Singh and Sunny Kumar as umpires, while Sunil Sharma acted as scorer. Sham Singh Langeh is organizing secretary of the tournament.
