JAMMU, June 7: Adarsh Club Miran Sahib, (Senior) and JKPPS Miran Sahib (Sub–Junior and Junior) excelled in 5th District Tug of War Championship here today.
Adarsh Club Miran Sahib and JKPPS Miran Sahib won in 5th District Tug of War Championship (Mixed 4 + 4), title. The Championship was organized by District Jammu Tug of War Association under the aegis of J&K Tug of War Association and J&K Sports Council.
Around 200 students represented different institutes; clubs of Jammu district participated in the championship. In the prize distribution function president, J&K Tug of War Association, S. Hardeep Singh Anand was the chief guest, general secretary J&K Tug of War Association; S. Jodh Singh Isher was the guest of honour, S. Jasbir Singh chairman of Unique International School Gadi-Garh who gave away winners and runners-up trophies, medals and certificates as also other individual prizes.
S.Hardeep Singh Anand appealed to all the participants to take part in sports in a big way and stay away from drugs and refrain from indulging in anti-social activities to become healthy and responsible citizens.
Senior Mixed 4+4 Men & Women (Wt. 580 KG) finals Adarsh Club Miran Sahib defeated RS Pura Club by 2-1 sets.
Under 19 Mixed 4+4 (Boys & Girls) (Wt. 480 KG) finals JKPPS Mira Sahib defeated Unique International School Gadigarh Jammu by 2-0 sets. In under 17 mixed 4+4 (Boys & Girls) (Wt. 460 KG) 1st semi final Wazir Janki Nath defeated GHS Bhour Camp by 2-0 sets. In 2nd semi finals, JKPPS Miran Sahib defeated Army Public School Miran Sahib by 2-0 sets and in finals JKPPS Miran Sahib defeated Wazir Janki Nath by 2-0 sets.
