Adbi Kunj pays tributes to Urdu poet Rehbar-e-Jadid

JAMMU, Dec 20: Literary organization Adbi Kunj and Rehbar-e- Jadid Memorial Trust Jain Bazar, jointly organized a literary meet to pay floral tributes to noted Urdu poet Late Jagdeepak Bahadur Suri (Rehbar-e-Jadid) on his 7th death anniversary.
Noted poets, writers from different parts of the State took part in this literary meet.
President of Adbi Kunj, Sham Talib, threw light on the life and works of Jagdeepak Bahadur Suri, who was the son of a culture and scholarly Hindi writer and famous Advocate of J&K State, Late Bansi Lai Suri.
Born on February 15, 1938 at Jammu, Rehbar-e-Jadid was inherited qualities of patriotism and poetry from his virtuous father. Contrary to his liking, he joined the Police Department of J&K Government and retired as Inspector of Police. He has published five volumes of the collection of his poems namely Khiyabhan, Talu-e-Jaan, Hareem-e-Naaj, Andha Yug, Girdaab and Suraj-Ka-Shehar.
Rehbar Jadid belongs to the category of poets who are the disciples of Josh Miliabadi and believe in composing poems in simple and lucid language. He was the first person who brought to the notice of people about the holy cave of “Shiv Khori”.
The poets and writers, who took part in this literary meet and read their papers, included Aarish Om Dalmotra, P L Parihar, K L Deewana, Ghulam Mohd, Bishan Dass Khak, Bashir Charar, Advocate Shabbir Mirza, Raj Kamal, Fausia Mughal, Ved Uppal, Ashraf Shaida and others.
