BANDIPORA, Aug 5: Additional Deputy Commiss-ioner (ADC), Waseem Raja on Friday flagged off a cycle rally from SK Stadium, here as part of the ‘Fit India Campaign’.
An official said the rally was organised by a local NGO Kashmir Environmental and Social Organization in collaboration with the District Administration on the theme of conservation of nature-green Jammu and Kashmir.
SHO Bandipora Ashiq Hussain, Chairman of NGO Hassan, Mudasir, Muzaffar and Firdous Sultan were present on the occasion.
The rally that started at SK Stadium Bandipora culminated at Mini Secretariat Bandipora. The aim of the rally was to promote cycling among youth that serve two purposes-staying fit and conserving environment ensuring pollution free atmosphere.
Nearly 70 students of various Schools including Army Good School, NRP School, Shahihamdan School, and Emergent School of Education Quil participated in the rally.
The ADC emphasized the school children to adopt cycle culture to remain physically fit. He also stressed upon the children to help the Administration to make the surroundings green and to reduce the culture of using vehicles and motorcycles in day to day fast life by using cycles to save fuel and money as well.
