kathua, July 5: The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan today flagged off tour of a Self Help Group to Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
The Self Help Group comprising of 15 women members is being led by Updesh Andotra who is chairperson of PRAYAS Self Help Group. The group will attend National Level Entrepreneurship Development Programme at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh where SHGs of other States of the country are also participating.
Dr. Bhushan while speaking on the occasion appreciated Updesh Andotra for organizing women into SHGs in order to make them economically independent.
The group is being sponsored by District Urban Development Authority, Kathua.
He added that Women Self Help Groups are important tools of empowering women and hoped that the group members after coming from Gwalior will disseminate the training module among others women.
