JAMMU, Feb 26: ADGP Armed J&K AK Choudhary felicitated JKP sports personnel for winning two Gold, three Silver and five Bronze Medals in All India Masters Athletics Championship-2020 and 10th National Sambo Championship 2020 in a felicitation ceremony held at Armed Police Hqrs. J&K, here today.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by Senior Officers of the Headquarters including Staff Officer (Sports) APHQ Dushyant Sharma, DySP Sports Zahid Ahmad Lone, Administrative Officer APHQ S.Darshan Singh and Team managers of JKP Central Sports Teams including Inspr. Kuldeep Handoo, Inspr. Sajad Hussain, Inspr Sharat Chander Singh and Inspr. Rashid Ahmad.
In All India Masters Athletic Championship-2020 held at Tau Davi Lal Stadium, Panchkula Haryana from 7th to 11th February 2020.
SgCt Reyaz Ahmad won 1 Gold Medal in 800 mtrs event, 2 silver medals in 1500 mtrs and 10000 mtrs event, whereas SgCt Tahir Ahmad Mir won 1 Bronze medal in 400 mtrs event and Const. Amrish Sharma won 1 Silver medal in 200 mtrs event and 1 Bronze medal in 100 mtrs event of the Championship.
Similarly, in 10th National Sambo Championship 2020 held at Baiewadi Stadium Pune, Maharashtra from 17th to 20th February 2020, SPO Irfan Lateef 1464/Sgr. won 1 Gold medal in -68 kg weight category, Const. Faisal Maqbool No.383/AP-12th won 1 Bronze medal in -74 kg weight category, Const. Owais Ahmad 1197/Pulwama won 1 Bronze medal in -82 kg weight category and Const. Ishfaq Ahmad No.1407/Budgam won 1 Bronze medal in +100 k weight category. In both of the aforesaid championships, the JKP sports personnel represent Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
While congratulating the players, winning the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals the ADGP appreciated the hard work and dedication of the participants for their remarkable achievements in their respective sports.
He also lauded the role of supervisory officers and team managers of JKP Central Sports teams for their contribution in sharpening the talent of sports personnel regularly which fetches better results during competitions.
