SRINAGAR, Mar 19: Three times World Arm Wrestling Championship qualifier and State’s first gold medalist waits for State award for years now.
Padma Shree nominee, Adil Shaban, 25 hailing from Bagat-Barzulla has brought laurels to the State many a times in his career. Adil is disappointed with the State for its negligence towards this sport.
“Despite being the number one player in North India, I was neglected by the State in general and sports authorities in particular,” said Adil.
Adil being the first international physical fitness, training, body building and nutritionist expert with recognition of international diploma under his belt, honoured with internationally in sports science-has been neglected in his home State and was not even honoured with a single penny.
Honored by former Mr. Universe and president, IBBF, Prem Chand Degra, Mr World and other IBBF members, Adil struggles to receive State awards announced by State Government some years back.
