Adjust package employees outside Valley: KPC

Excelsior Correspondent

NEW DELHI, Aug 1: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has urged both State & Central Governments to accept the genuine demands of PM package employees without further delay.
The KPC activists at a meeting here today also lambasted MLA Engineer Rashid for spewing venom against KPs and KP employees for demanding adjustment outside the Valley.
Addressing the meeting KPC, chief Kundan Kashmir stated that it is most unfortunate that no decision has been yet taken by the State Government to formally shift KP employees posted in Valley to Jammu and Delhi in view of constant protests and strikes which entered 23 day today after the killing of Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani in an encounter in the Valley. The PM Package employees who were victims of anti–Indian demonstrations, stone pelting, harassment, humiliation and who due to fear psychosis and life threat in Valley were forced to flee to Jammu are continuously protesting in a peaceful manner at R.C office for last fortnight, demanding their adjustment outside the Valley, he added.
But unfortunately none of the Ministers or any senior officer in administration visited to assure them to consider their genuine demands at the earliest possible.
Kundan Kashmiri said these employees in one voice have already made it clear to the Govt. that they will not return under any condition to Valley in view of their past six years experience. They would return only when whole of the community will be settled in Kashmir as per their wishes and choice. But unfortunately it has been observed that State Government is non–serious and not in favor of shifting these employees to Jammu.
KPC Chief Kundan Kashmiri stated that forcible stay of these handful employees in Valley can not help to change the situation there, but Government needs to formulate some stringent policy in this regard.
Similar views were expressed by KPC senior vice president Tej Pandit, vice president M.N Raina general secretary Dr. H.L. Saraf, organizing secretary Susheel Ji Bhat, S L Zuthsi, R Razdan and others during the meeting.
