KATHUA, Sept 12: Following the complaints, a joint team of district administration and Kathua police led by SSP Kathua, Shivdeep Singh raided a Drug De-Addiction Clinic working on name and style of ASS Neuro Psychatric and Pain, De-addiction and Pain Management run by Dr Sumeet Singh here at Kalibari, Kathua today.
At the time of raid Dr Sumeet Singh was not present and police started investigation and questioning to staff present there. After the three hours long verification of various legal aspects, the district administration decided to seal the clinic as the staff failed to produce required valid documents to run it. The district administration banned the working of clinic till further order.
The sources said that some drug addiction centers and clinics are functioning in Kathua since some time past under suspicious circumstances and some alleged illegal activities are noticed there as was also mentioned by the complainant. The complainants are raising fingers on working of Dugs Control Department who failed to put a check on such alleged illegal clinics. During the raid, SSP Kathua, Shivdeep Singh said that we are verifying the facts in this matter and everything will come to light after the investigation is completed.
