Admn to take strict action against drug peddlers: DC Doda

Doda, Sept 1: District Administration Doda and Police Department under the overall supervision of DDC Vishesh Paul Mahajan and SSP Abdul Qayoom today launched a mega and massive anti drug abuse campaign from the district headquarters.
The campaign was flagged off from outside the DC office complex wherein more than 2000 participants including officers/officials of civil and police administration, members of civil society, social workers, PRIs school students, participated and went through the market areas shouting slogans against drug abuse and later the participants destroyed wild cannabis grown in the vicinity of the city and finally culminated at Govt Boys Hr Sec School Doda.
At Govt Boys Hr Sec school Doda various students presented their debates on the drug abuse, a video message of International Ace shooter Chain Singh, a native of Doda District and a motivational video was shown to the participants, besides other key note speakers from civil and police department also shared their views on drug abuse and it’s consequences on the young generation.
The DDC also interacted with the participants and shared his views on the drug abuse and urged all the youngsters to become the ambassadors of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan so that the message of the campaign reaches to all corners of the district.
The DDC assured strict action against all those who are involved in drug peddling and sought support from all the sections of the society to identify the culprits so that they shall be put behind the bars, besides urged that those who have been the victims the menace to come forward so that they are treated and rehabilitated and provided the facilities to restart their beautiful life like any other healthy person of the district
SSP Doda also briefed the participants about their efforts against the drug abuse and sought the cooperation from all walks of the life to make Doda a Nasha Mukt district in the upcoming days and assured the participants that this campaign will be a sustainable feature of both the Civil and Police administration till the idea of Drug free district is not achieved.
