POONCH, Oct 22: Adnan secured victory in the junior category by defeating Dhiren in straight sets with scores of 11-4, 11-7, 11-9 at the 34th Poonch Table Tennis Championship.
In the men’s doubles event, the duo of Zaffer and Mighty triumphed over Rachit and Shivam with a 3-0 scoreline, winning by 11-7, 11-9, 11-7. In the girls’ U-19 category, Arushi defeated Sonakshi by 11-6, 11-8, while Ashley emerged victorious against Aakshi by 11-6, 11-9.
The men’s singles semifinals saw Adnan overcome Mighty 11-7, 11-8, 11-9, while Rachit edged past Zafar in a thrilling five-setter, winning by 11-7, 6-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7. In the youth category, Adnan continued his dominant form by defeating Mashook by 11-3, 11-9, 11-7.
The matches were organized under the supervision of Narinder Singh Sweety, Jagjeet Singh Nika, Sanjay Raina, and Devinder Dabur, and held under the aegis of the J&K Table Tennis Association.
