Adrash Vihar residents without water for week

JAMMU, Oct 12: Adrash Vihar residents near Dilli area of Jammu south, are without drinking water for the last about one week.
Balwant Singh, president of Adrash Vihar Welfare Society said that due to some alleged fault in the motor in the local pumping station, the water supply in the entire locality has been snapped. The PHE authorities have failed to make alternative arrangements for the public. The people are forced to hire private tankers to meet their need.
Singh said he and some locals of the area also took up the matter with the concerned officials but even then, the supply could not be restored. There seems to be some non-coordination between the Mechanical wing and Civil wing of the Jal Shakti department of the area. The Society sought the intervention of Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti and DC Jammu into the matter.
