SAMBA, Feb 23: Farooq Khan, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, encouraged and honoured the winners of the final match of cricket tournament, which was played in the memory of the martyred soldiers and late cricketers at Kehli Mandi ground, here today.
The final match was played between Shaheed Varun Katal Cricket Club Mawa and Samba XI Team, in which Shaheed Varun Katal Club Mawa emerged winner to clinch the trophy.
Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor lauded the efforts of the organisers in holding the tournament in a befitting manner.
He also advised the young cricketers to always play with sporting spirit.
On the occasion, the people of Samba submitted a memorandum to the Advisor.
